About Introships
What is Introships?
Introships is a non-profit career exploration program. It helps college and high school students learn how dozens of careers really work, choose a direction with confidence, and build a network of professionals who have opted in to help them. Introships combines live sessions with practicing professionals, coaching, and a video library and networking platform.
Is Introships a non-profit?
Yes. Introships Program Inc. is a Georgia domestic non-profit corporation, and contributions are tax deductible. Donors fund need-based scholarships so that students who could not otherwise afford the programs can take part.
Who are the programs for?
Career Discovery (College) is for college students, and works best in the first two years of college, before choosing a major or applying for internships. Career Activation (College) is for Career Discovery alumni who are ready to pursue internships and jobs. Career Discovery (High School) is offered to high school students through their schools.
How is Introships different from a college career services office?
Introships encourages students to use everything their career services office offers. Introships adds a degree of personalization and individual attention that career services usually cannot: class sizes are small, students hear from dozens of professionals across more than 20 industries in detail, and the presenters are warm contacts who joined to help students. As a non-profit, Introships is not driven to maximize financial results.
Career Discovery (College)
What is the Career Discovery program?
Career Discovery is the Introships flagship program for college students. Over seven weeks in the summer, students attend 32 live video presentations from more than 70 professionals across 20+ industries, who explain what their jobs look like day to day, how they got there, and what they wish they had known at 19. Weekly group and one-on-one coaching helps students reflect on what they hear, evaluate their fit, and leave with prioritized career interests, a polished elevator pitch, and clear next steps.
How much time does Career Discovery take?
Plan on about 6 hours a week for 7 weeks: the live presentations plus about an hour a week of group coaching. That is light enough that students can hold a summer job or internship at the same time.
When is the next program, and when can I apply?
The next Career Discovery program runs in Summer 2027. Applications open in January 2027. You can sign up now to be emailed as soon as applications open.
How much does Introships cost? Are scholarships available?
The standard commitment for Career Discovery (College) is $750. Need-based scholarships of up to 100% of the cost are available for deserving students. Career Activation is also $750 for those admitted, with need-based scholarships available.
Is the program online?
Yes. Presentations and coaching happen over live video calls, so students can take part from anywhere. During the program students also get access to the Introships Platform, with recordings of past presentations, career tools, and a directory for reaching presenters and alumni.
Can I see what the presentations are like?
Yes. The program calendar shows selected live presentations from the 2026 program, each with the full recording, an overview of the company, the professionals who presented, and a summary of what they covered.
Career Activation (College)
What is Career Activation?
Career Activation helps Career Discovery alumni turn career clarity into internship and job offers. It is a structured four-month program, offered in the fall or spring, with experts from company recruiting teams and college career centers. It covers networking and personal brand, resumes, cover letters and LinkedIn, mock interviews with industry professionals, workplace communication, and how to use AI tools in today’s recruiting. Introships coaches review each student’s pipeline of networking and job opportunities every week for the first eight weeks.
Do I have to do Career Discovery first?
Yes. Career Activation is open to Introships Career Discovery alumni, so students complete Career Discovery before Career Activation.
High school
Does Introships have a program for high school students?
Yes. Career Discovery (High School) gives students 5 hours of on-demand video covering 15 career paths, plus group and individual coaching and conversations with Introships alumni who are current college students. It helps students think about college choices, likely majors and career paths. Introships delivers it in partnership with high schools.
How can my school offer the high school program?
Introships works directly with high schools to deliver the program to their students. Contact Joe Fiveash, Executive Director, at joe@introships.org to discuss a partnership.
Presenters, partners and donors
Who are the presenters?
Presenters are practicing professionals from more than 20 industries who volunteer to share their careers with students. Each one opted in to help, so a thoughtful note from an Introships student is far more likely to get a reply than cold outreach.
How can an organization partner with Introships?
Introships partners with colleges, high schools, employers and other non-profits to bring its programs to the students they serve, and works with donors to fund scholarships.
How can I support Introships?
Donations fund scholarships of up to 100% of program costs, expert coaching, and the platform. Contributions are tax deductible, and gifts from donor-advised funds are welcome. Contact Joe Fiveash at joe@introships.org.
